Lead Poisoning Prevention Program
Just a reminder to residents that the Orange County Office of Community Development offers a lead poisoning prevention program called Lead Safe Orange. This program can provide funds to eligible landlords, and single family homeowners in order to renew or replace surfaces that may contain lead hazards. If you reside in a home that was built before 1978 in Orange County, call Wayne Cochran at Lead Safe Orange, 845-291-2721, to see if you qualify.
Cell Phones for Soldiers
If you’re looking for a great way to show your support for our soldiers overseas, join with Greg Townsend and donate your old cell phone to the “Cell Phones for Soldiers Program”. Look for one of the collection boxes at your local Motor Vehicles Department.
The Cell Phones for Soldiers Program is a national non-profit organization that collects phones, installs a one-hour pre-paid calling card into the phone, and then distributes them to a soldier or sailor overseas.
